Engineering is about problem solving. As an engineer you rely on your knowledge in physics, biology, chemistry, and other natural sciences to find solutions. Mathematics is your toolbox, but you are not just using your tools to take something apart or fix it; you are employing them in imaginative new ways to solve problems you might not have encountered before. Studying Engineering equips you with detailed knowledge in specific engineering areas, such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, or bioengineering. More importantly however, studying Engineering will develop your analytical skills, lateral thinking and solution orientated approaches. Engineering at Murray Edwards College
We aim to admit around six undergraduates a year. You would thus be part of a strong and vibrant community of around 25 Engineers in the College at any one time. The annual Engineering dinner brings together all Engineers at Murray Edwards College and we frequently invite former students to share their experiences in a wide range of professions. Being an Engineering student at Murray Edwards College means that you are joining this supportive and growing network of successful and influential Engineers.

Admissions Assessment
All applicants for Engineering are required to take a written assessment (Engineering Admissions Assessment; ENGAA), for which they must be registered in advance.
